Oatmeal can be an awesome, filling, convenient, and highly nutritional breakfast option
Here are a few benefits of a good bowl of O:
- Warm stuff makes us feel “full” and “satisfied” Check out this article to read more about this. Just think about it, do you feel more satisfied after a nice, hot home cooked meal or something cold on the go.
- Oats are nutrient dense. What is nutrient density? The ratio of calories to vitamins and minerals. Oatmeal is packed with b vitamins, phytochemicals, and other great stuff that keeps us healthy.
- Fiber-full goodness. You’ve probably heard that oats contain soluble fiber. What the bleep is that? basically, soluble fiber is soluble or dissolves in water. Soluble fiber turns into this really cool goop in your digestive tract that can absorb toxins and excess fat. Unlike insoluble fiber, soluble fiber gently passes through your intestines. Soluble fiber is a great way to move food along the digestive process. Woooooooo regular bowel movements!
- Slower digesting carbs. In general, I’m a lower carb advocate. Although oats are a high carb food, I’m still a fan because the carbs are digested slowly and do not seem to spike blood sugar and cause a crash like bread and other cereal does.
Cut to the chase. How do you make your oat meal orgasmic?
Here’s how you make your oats taste good every time:
1/3 cup oats
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
Cook those together in for 3-4 min in a small sauce pan or in the microwave
mix in 1 scoop of no sugar added protein powder
1 egg white
a dash of salt
1 tsp butter, MCT oil, or coconut oil
stir and microwave for 30 seconds
it will turn into a cake like substance and holy crap it’s so good.
This kind of has everything awesome in it:
protein, slow carbs, medium chain fatty acids, and calcium
Its basically a kick in the face to body fat.
